VictronDashboard is an installable app that reads directly from your own Victron VRM Portal API and lays the same data out in a more readable, more useful way — DC-only consumption history, tank levels in real units instead of just percent, solar potential measured against what you actually harvested, and a dashboard you can rearrange to match how you actually use your system.

"Why is yours better than what Victron offers?"

Someone asked me that on Facebook. Here's the honest answer:

My biggest "want" was the ability to track DC consumption. My system is about six years old and I don't have a VE.Direct connection to my batteries. VRM doesn't show that in its main graph, and the widgets are pretty thin on info too. I'm on a boat — DC powers most of what I have, even my A/C unit.

If any of that sounds familiar — an older system, a battery bank VRM can't fully see into, or just more DC load than VRM's AC-focused screens were ever built for — this app exists because of exactly that gap.

What you get

Same VRM data you already have access to — just organized around the questions you actually ask about your system.

Solar potential vs. actual harvest

Pulls real weather data for your exact location and compares it against what your panels actually produced — so you can tell a cloudy day from an underperforming panel.

DC consumption, charted

VRM's stock screens focus on AC. If most of your load is 12V/24V DC, this is the history graph you've been missing.

Real units, not just percent

Tank levels in gallons or liters, AC loads in amps as well as watts — the numbers you'd actually write down, not just a gauge.

History that outlives VRM's window

VRM only keeps detailed logs for about six months. This app quietly banks your history locally in the background, so your data keeps growing the longer you use it.

A dashboard you control

Drag tiles into the order that matches your system, hide the ones you don't need — it's your layout, not a fixed template.

Works with any Victron GX system

Whether or not your battery bank talks directly to Victron (DVCC), the numbers are corrected automatically so generator and alternator figures come out right either way.

How it works

1. Create an account

Just your name and email — nothing else is stored on our server.

2. Install the app

Download and add it to your desktop like any other PWA. It runs entirely in your browser.

3. Enter your VRM token

At vrm.victronenergy.com, click your name (top right) → Preferences → Integrations → Access Tokens to generate one. It's stored only in your browser, never in a database — requests are relayed through our server to reach Victron's API, but your token is never logged or saved.

Installing on your computer

Once you've created an account and opened the app from your Download page, install it as its own app window instead of a browser tab.

Chrome / Edge (Mac, Windows, Linux)
  1. Open the app in Chrome or Edge.
  2. Click the install icon in the address bar (a small monitor with a down arrow), or open the menu.
  3. Click Install VictronDashboard (or Install app).
  4. Confirm. It opens in its own window and shows up in your Applications/Start menu like a native app.
Safari (macOS)
  1. Open the app in Safari.
  2. Click File in the menu bar.
  3. Click Add to Dock.
  4. Confirm. It launches as its own app window from the Dock, separate from your browser.

Firefox on desktop doesn't currently support installing as an app — it still works fine as a regular tab.

Installing on your phone

Once you've created an account and opened the app from your Download page, add it to your home screen for a real full-screen app with no browser bars — handy for checking your system while you're away from it.

iPhone & iPad (use Safari or Chrome)
  1. Open the app in Safari or Chrome.
  2. Tap the Share icon — the square with an arrow pointing up.
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Tap Add. The icon now opens full-screen, just like a native app.
Android (use Chrome)
  1. Open the app in Chrome.
  2. If Chrome doesn't prompt you automatically, tap the menu in the top-right corner.
  3. Tap Add to Home screen (or Install app).
  4. Confirm. The icon appears on your home screen and opens full-screen.

On an iPhone or iPad, this only works from Safari or Chrome — Brave and Firefox on iOS don't offer an "Add to Home Screen" option at all (an Apple platform limitation, not something specific to this app).
